Right Place at the Right Time: New Art Job

     Yesterday I got the NEWS...I will be the new Art Teacher at Kailua Intermediate School (7th. & 8th. Grades). So Excited, Can't wait to get into the classroom to get it all together (Organize and Decorate).
     It was a case of being at the right place at the right time. I met the principal one day while I was substituting for Math. She overheard my conversation with another teacher (heard my credentials: Master's in Art Education) and ask me if I would be interested in teaching (long term sub) Special Needs Students until the end of the school year. I said I have never done that before. then She said if I did teach the kids that  maybe there would be a good chance that I could be the Art Teacher next year. I said I would try for two weeks...which turned out to be till the end of the year. Things happen for a reason. I lucked out.
